Race for Life Celebrity Car ShowSaturday, October 18th, 2003SALF's annual Race For Life Celebrity Car Show was sponsored by US Army Racing, Alexian Brothers, Miller Brewing, Route 66 Raceway, Red Bull, and the Village of Palatine at the Gateway Center Parking Garage, and featured a guest appearance from and autograph signing session with NHRA top fuel driver Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher.
The event proved to be a great time for the entire family. It included a celebrity-studded car show and a contest with top cars from the import scene, as well as classic cars from around the Chicagoland area. Those in attendance were given the opportunity to admire some of today's hottest wheels, enjoy a wide array of delicious foods and experience many great, local acts. A plethora of on-site vendors and exhibitors were on hand, displaying pertinent paraphernalia. Included in this list were many automotive specialty shops and SALF national affiliate, Citizen Corps. Many flashy cars, which captivated the crowd, were publicly displayed at the event, including Porsches, imported drag racers and the highlight of the show, Kenny Schrader's NASCAR Nextel Cup Car. Event donations went to help Save A Life Foundation train Chicagoland area school children in basic life supporting skills. |
