Benefits of SALF In Your Community?

SALF heightens community safety by training children and adults in basic life saving techniques. SALF helps the local Emergency Medical System (EMS) obtain needed continuing education hours and expands community involvement.

SALF branch sites offers one-half to two-hour classes promoting and training the "Pre-EMS" role of the “Bystander” prior to EMS arrival. More importantly SALF programs teach valuable life supporting skills as early as kindergarten, creating a community of emergency prepared citizens.

Who needs to be involved?

The support of local emergency medical service providers, governments, businesses and schools help effectively run the SALF program. SALF programs are typically organized around emergency medical service departments, but can be based wherever emergency professionals are located, such as police and fire departments.  SALF programs need a part to full-time facilitator to identify local schools that need the training,  and coordinate and recruiting local EMS professionals as instructors.

How can I bring SALF into my area?

SALF understands that your community is unique therefore by providing us with the following information allows us to determine how we can help you achieve your goals.

1. Send a Letter of Intent to SALF Headquarters with:
• contact person's name, address, phone number, or e-mail address relationship to EMS
• ability to provide: to facilitate the program
• geographic service area anticipated
• number of school children to be trained over a 12 month period
