For nearly a year such national and international groups as the Save A Life Foundation, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, American Safety and Health Institute, OSHA, American Burn Assoc., Nat'l Assoc. of EMTs, American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Surgeons, Nat'l Assoc. of EMS Physicians, Education & Int'l Medicine, American Assoc. of Poison Control Centers, Int'l Assoc. of Fire Chiefs, ACFAS, Medic First Aid and many emergency medical consultants have relentlessly researched the effectiveness of treatment. They are currently finalizing the development of first aid guidelines that will be used in creating adult first aid programs worldwide.

Hosted by the American Heart Association and American Red Cross and under the tremendous leadership of William W. Hammill, M.D. and David Markenson, M.D., this 2005 project is well on it's way to become a template that training organizations will use when creating their first aid treatment programs.

Special considerations go to Art Cooper, M.D., Leon Chameides, M.D. Naomi Gauthier, M.D., Donald Gordon, M.D. Robert Loftus, EMT, Adam Singer, M.D., Tom Zoch, M.D., Walt Stoy, Ph.D., Jeff Wassertheil, M.D., Bill Brady, M.D. and the valued members of the AHA staff such as Mary Alcedo and Susan Bork, to name a few, who contributed so much to it's success.
