Save A Life Foundation (SALF) President and Founder Carol Spizzirri recently spoke with U.S. Senator Barack Obama and Illinois Congresswoman Melissa Bean regarding SALF’s future lifesaving efforts.

While in the Illinois legislature together, Obama and current Illinois Senate President Emil Jones were always supportive of SALF’s efforts to train Illinois schoolchildren in life-sustaining skills for free.  While Bean is new to Congress, she has been well known as an advocate for the safeguarding of children and families.

Spizzirri says she looks forward to implementing SALF’s future goals with both U.S. Senator Obama and Congresswoman Bean on a national level.

Founded by Spizzirri in 1993, SALF has equipped over one million schoolchildren with free training in CPR and Life Sustaining First Aid (LSFA) skills in Illinois alone.  The organization has a prominent position among many communities and is currently expanding its branches in an effort to reach more schoolchildren nationwide.

“The children we train are empowered with the tools they need to help save a life in the future,” says Spizzirri.  “With more legislators recognizing the need to equip citizens with emergency skills, starting with children, our country will be more prepared should it be faced with a disaster.”
