Northern Mariana Islands Participate in Save A Life Month

Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela is joined by CNMI officials during the Mayoral Proclamation signing ceremony on September 11, 2006, designating the month of September as Save A Life Month in the Municipality of Saipan. Saipan Mayor, Juan Borja Tudela submitted an official proclamation to the Save A Life Foundation (SALF) declaring September as Save A Life Month in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

The ceremony was attended by officials from the Office of the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, the Division of Fire and staff from the Emergency Management Technician Unit, the Office of the Commonwealth Ports Authority, both Air and Seaport, as well as the Fire, Crash and Rescue Unit of the Commonwealth Ports Authority. The officials collectively applauded Mayor Tudela’s efforts for taking the initiative to prepare his citizens to know what to do at the scene of an accident, in the event of war, or terror crisis event.

Carol Spizzirri, Founder and President of the Save A Life Foundation joins those applauding the Mayor stating, “Mayor Tudela is a man dedicated to the safety and well being of his people. His decision to proclaim September as Save A Life month speaks volumes toward his commitment to his community. I look forward to seeing him help change the global landscape of preparedness.”
