Lt. Governor Corinne Wood Announces support for the Save A Life Foundation's Involvement in "Homeland Security"SubtitleReturn to the Press Release Index In a letter sent to newly appointed Homeland Security Director Matt Bettenhausen, Lt. Gov. Corrine Wood has urged that the Save A Life Foundation become a formal member of the "Homeland Security" team of Illinois. It's founder and President Carol Spizzirri be named Director of Illinois' "Community Response System Initiative" (CRSI). The Save A Life Foundation (SALF) was founded by Carol Spizzirri in 1993 shortly after the death of her daughter in 1992. SALF has been responsible for the passage of legislation requiring first aid and CPR training of police and fire personnel as well as active training programs in communities across the state, including the Chicago Public School system. To date the SALF has trained 400,000 Illinois children and adults to be "emergency prepared". ###
