Nation Proclaims Save A Life Week

The Save A Life Foundation wishes to express its appreciation for the support by 2005 municipalities in 19 States, 1 U.S. Territory, 28 Governors, and the U.S. House of Representatives for declaring the days of May 18-24, 2003 as Save A Life Week. This week is set aside to observe the invaluable efforts of Good Samaritans and EMS workers during emergencies, with express intentions of encouraging citizens of all ages to become trained in Life Supporting First Aid.

Save A Life Foundation, an affiliate member of U.S. Homeland Security Citizen Corps, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to train citizens, starting with children (K-12), as Pre-EMS Bystanders, equipped to effectively volunteer in an emergency with life supporting first aid (LSFA). LSFA skills include CPR, bleed-control, Heimlich maneuver, and age-appropriate instruction for action during an emergency. Save A Life Foundation is the only organization that solely utilizes local EMS technicians as instructors for its nationally recognized courses, and proudly hosts Save A Life Week in conjunction with EMS Week.
