Chicago, Aug. 23 - 2007 -- The Save A Life Foundation (SALF) today announced the results of an independent Blue Ribbon Study White Paper. The Blue Ribbon Study data, which was compiled over a three-month period, included comments by representatives of school administration, the fire service, emergency medical service (EMS), law enforcement, and municipal leaders from throughout Illinois.

Participants in the Blue Ribbon Study were asked to review many areas of the Foundation including SALF programs, course materials, teaching and instructor methodology, financial and business practices, and leadership. Information obtained from state government agencies was included in the study data.

The results, contained in a Blue Ribbon Study White Paper 2007, concluded that the organization’s programs, practices and operations are “consistent with the highest standards of integrity and sound business practices.”

The Blue Ribbon Study was undertaken at the request of SALF’s Executive Board of Directors as part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to excellence and compliance.

SALF’s Board of Directors commissioned the study to ensure stakeholders that its top priority is to maintain a flawless reputation as a good steward of the public trust.

“We are extremely pleased that the findings of the independent Blue Ribbon Study accurately reflect the outstanding reputation that our staff, EMS Instructors, branches, and partners have worked so hard to maintain. The study’s findings are a testimony to the dedication of everyone involved,” said SALF Founder/President Carol J. Spizzirri.

A spokesperson for the SALF Board of Directors, issued the following statement regarding the Blue Ribbon Study. “The Foundation has always taken great pride in its internal processes and policies that are designed to assure the highest standards of ethical behavior and sound business practices are consistently followed. Annual independent financial audits further guarantee these standards are kept in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and government policies. We wish to thank all those who participated in the Blue Ribbon Study for their time and attention to this important process.”
