what lifts were made before 2000 ?
MEC (originally the aerial work platform division of Mayville Engineering Company) began building scissor lifts in 1976 and produced a number of electric and engine-powered models before 2000.
Some of the better-known pre-2000 MEC lifts include:
Electric slab scissor lifts: 1632, 1932, 2033, 2633, 2647, 3247, 4046. These were common rental fleet machines throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Rough-terrain / diesel scissor lifts: MEC 112-17D (introduced around 1999), MEC 121-18D (introduced around 1999). These models continued into the early 2000s.
In the late 1990s, MEC also produced a few specialty and custom scissor platforms for industrial applications, although they were built in much smaller numbers than the slab lifts.
